成都外国语学校创办于1989年，是经四川省教育厅批准，四川省**所具有外语特色的高完中。是教育部确定的具有保送生资格的外国语学校(全国共16所，四川唯一)、四川省“拔尖创新人才培养试点学校”(全省共6所，民办学校唯一)、清华大学“新百年领军计划优质生源基地”、北京大学校长实名推荐学校、中国人民大学“校长直通车”学校、复旦大学“望道计划”学校、四川省民办教育先进集体、省级校风示范校、“媒体信赖的教育品牌”学校、成都市民办教育先进集体、“中国西部十大中小学教育品牌”、四川省课程改革样本学校(全省唯一的民办学校)、成都市课程改革引领学校。
学校以“立学中华，语通世界”为办学理念，以“为学生发展奠基，对民族未来负责”为指导思想，以“培养具有世界胸襟、民族情怀的高素质现代中国人”为育人目标，使学生成为“思想品德优良、文化基础扎实、外语特长突出、人格心理健全、实践创新能力突出、审美情趣高雅”的中学生。
学校文理并重，和谐发展，着力凸显外语特色。目前，开设有英语、日语、法语、德语。学校常年聘有外籍教师任教，还与国外多所名校建立了合作关系。外语教学采用国外教材，实行小班化教学。现有教学班96个，学生5000余人。学校书香四溢、人文凸显，是成都市校园文化建设特色学校。
学校致力于为学生成长提供适宜的空间，切实改变了“千军万马”挤独木桥的格局，让学生踏上了缤纷的成长之途。学校已培养出了11名省市文理科状元，2012年包揽四川省文科理科双状元，优生井喷式涌现，全省文理前10名中，我校占6名;前100名中，占17名。20名同学考入北大、清华、港大等名校。已连续两年获成都市教育局颁发高中教育“突出贡献奖”。一本率均在85%左右，升学率年年保持100%。高考保送生连年攀升，2012年再创保送新高，134人被保送到重点大学深造，接近全省保送人数的一半。每年有数以百计的学子考入世界大学。2012年124名优生被美欧名牌大学以高额奖学金录取，留学人数、学校档次、奖学金数额等，都在四川遥遥。成外学子已连续六年夺得常青藤盟校全额奖学金，继续引领西部基础教育国际化浪潮。学科竞赛异年突起，共有4000多人次获国家级奖励。2012年有38人获全国一等奖，1人荣获中国西部数学奥林匹克金牌，1人入选中国数学奥林匹克冬令营，1人获航海模型(动力艇)世界杯赛青少年组MONO-1冠军。2012年全国的英语竞赛中，我校学生狂揽7个一等奖，16个二等奖。在ACTS中国校园综合素质能力竞赛全国总决赛中，5位同学获得特别金奖，8位同学获得银奖，8人获得铜奖，7人获得奖，有19人获得了赴美国留学的资格。学校全面实施素质教育，推进课程改革，现已开设了50余门校本课程，大大丰富了学校的课程内容，极大地满足学生多样化、个性化的学习需求和成长需求。学校组织开展一系列丰富多彩的课外活动，如体育节、艺术节、科技节、社团活动等，拥有“民乐、舞蹈、桥牌、球类”等艺体传统团队，艺体特长生不断涌现,每年都有多人次荣获全国、省、市冠军。学校的中考年年保持着全市的地位，一次性合格率达100%，优生率达99%以上，重点率年年保持85%以上。
学校国际部2009年成立的“中美国际高中实验班”(AP班)，已成功地培养出两届毕业生，高2011级和高2012级全体同学全部被美国名牌大学录取。2011年成立的“中加双高中文凭班”是四川省教育厅和加拿大新斯科舍省教育部合作项目，学生将拥有成外和新斯科舍省教育部颁发的双高中文凭。中加班的学生可以直接通过平时成绩申请加拿大的大学，无需托福和赛达成绩。

TheInternationalDepartmentoftheschoolhastwoprogrammes.TheSino-AmercanExperimentalCourseProgram(AP)wasfoundedin2009.Uptonowithasalreadyhadtwosessionsofgraduates.Thestudentswhograduatedin2011andin2012werealladmittedtowell-knownuniversitiesinAmerica.TheSino-CanadianDualHighSchoolDiplomaProgramme,setupin2011,isajointprogrambetweentheDepartmentofSichuanProvinceandtheDepartmentofNoviaScotia.Whenthestudentsgraduatefromtheprogramme,theywillbeissuedtwodiplomas,oneisthediplomaofCFLS,theotherthediplomaofNoviaScottia.WhenthestudentsapplytoCanadianuniversities,theyareabletousetheseratherthanhavingtotakeTOEFL,IELTSandSAT.
