ChongqingNanfangTranslatorsCollege(CNTC)ofSichuanInternationalStudiesUniversity(SISU)isafulltimegeneralcollegewithundergraduateprogramsentitledtocarryoutthestateenrollmentplanofhighereducationasapprovedbytheMinistryofEducation.ItisinthefirstgroupofprivateindependentundergraduatecollegesinChina,adoptingthatneweducationalmodel.CNTC,adjacenttoChongqingJiangbeiInternationalAirportandChongqingNorthRailwayStation,haseasytrafficwithhighwaysandexpresswaysleadingtothedowntownproper15kilometersawayandenjoysfreshairinthequietandbeautifulenvironment.

CNTCcoversanareaofmorethan1,300mu(around87hectares)withgranddesign,andcurrentlyadmitsmorethan12,000students.Itsmainbuildingsincludetheteachingbuildingwithanareaofmorethan300,000m2,theadministrativebuildingofaround160,000m2,thestudentapartmentsofaround120,000m2andthelibrarymansionofaround17,000m2.Thecollegealsopossessestwostandardtrack&fieldgroundsplusseveralcourtsofbasketball,tennisandbadminton.Withacomprehensivecampusinformationnetworkestablished,thecollegehasrealizedautomatedofficework,multi-mediateachingandInternetaccesstotheoutsideworld.

CNTChasastrongbattalionofbestandexperiencedteachers,old,middle-agedandyoung,includingadozenofforeignteachers,whoarequalifiedinteachingandresearchwork.Toensuretheteachingperformance,thecollegehasorganizedaneducationsupervisiongroupcomposedofmanywell-knownexpertstoguideanddirecttheteachingprocess.Theexcellentadministrativeteamtogetherwiththelogisticsdepartmentofthecollegeguaranteestheprovisionoffirst-classservicestotheteachingactivities,theteachersandthestudents.

CNTChasestablished8academicdepartments:theDepartmentofTranslation,theDepartmentofBusinessandTrade,theDepartmentofManagement,theDepartmentofAsian-EuropeanLanguages,theDepartmentofInternationalCulturalExchange,theDepartmentofArts,theDepartmentofCommonCoursesandtheModernEducationalTechnologyCenter.Thesedepartmentsoffer35majorsandorientationscoveringEnglishlanguage,Japaneselanguage,Germanlanguage,journalism,internationaleconomyandtrade,Chineselanguagecoursesforforeignstudents,engineeringmanagement,airservices,realestatemanagementandevaluation,marketing,advertising,artisticdesign,musicalperformance,etc.CNTCenrollsstudentsfrom30provinces(autonomousregions,municipalities)ofChina.Thecollegeisaschoolqualifiedtogivetheexamonthesubjectsof“on-boardservicesandtourismarts(for3-yearstudents)”intheprogramsponsoredbyChongqingHigherEducationTeach-yourselfExaminations,andisalsoademonstrationsiteofassistingtheself-taughtstudentsrelatingtoforeignlanguageandcultureinthatprogram,providingvariousassistanceclassesfortheundergraduateand3-yearstudentsmajoringinEnglish,law,airservicesandtourismarts.

BasedonthestrongteachingandresearchforceofSISU,andwiththefirst-classmodernteachingfacilitiesofitsown,CNTCisdevotedtoproducingthequalityinter-disciplinarytalentscharacterizedbygoodmasteryofforeignlanguagesandsufficientpracticalskills.AccordingtotherelatedstipulationsoftheMinistryofEducation,diplomasrecognizedbytheMinistryofEducationforthegeneralfulltimeundergraduates(and3-yearstudents)willbeconferredonthestudentswhohavecompletedtheregularstudyperiodwithfavorableperformancesandresults,inthenameofCNTCofSISU.Accordingtootherrelatednationalstipulations,diplomaswillbeconferredonallthestudentsofindependentcollegesenrolledaftertheautumnof2008andmeetingtheconditionsofbeingawardedabachelor’sdegree,theB.Acertificates,inthenameofCNTCitself.However,theB.Acertificateswillbeconferredonthestudentsenrolledbeforetheautumnof2008andmeetingtheconditionsofbeingawardedabachelor’sdegree,followingthe“oldpractice”.

CNTCattachesgreatimportancetotheemploymentofitsgraduates.Thecollegehasestablishedaschool-levelguidanceteamforguidingthejobsearch,listedtheissueasanimportantitemontheagendaofthecollege,optimizedthe2-level(collegeanddepartment)graduateemploymentmanagementsystem,andestablishedtheinternshipbasesforthegraduatesinthefieldsofrealestate,tourism,hotelandairservices.Fromtheyear2005to2008insuccession,astheinter-disciplinarytalentswithgoodmasteryofforeignlanguagesandsufficientpracticalskills,thegraduatesofCNTCwerehighlyfavoredbytheemployers,achievingtheemploymentrateofbeyond90%.
